Current technology allows for cataloging of the state of historical sites and recreation and reconstruction of what sites originally looked like in three dimensions. However, there is not a platform that effectively allows researchers to study change over time in multiple strata by connecting historical temporal data to these detailed site models. In other words, instead of being simply an image of a ruin, this interactive tool enables researchers, for example, to understand the historical cultures from an urban planning perspective by analyzing change at the neighborhood level.
